Susan Chester began in 1996 with a simple idea: getting dressed should feel good. I wanted to bring together pieces that were comfortable, full of character, and easy to make your own.

From the beginning, I've chosen clothing with everyday life in mind. Soft knits, beautiful patterns, flattering shapes, and thoughtful details—pieces you can reach for whether you're meeting a friend for coffee or enjoying a quiet afternoon at home.

Over the years, my favourite part has always been the people. The conversations in the shop, familiar faces returning, and helping someone find a piece that feels just right. Those little moments are what have made Susan Chester so special to me.

The shop has also been part of my family's life. Watching my grandson grow up around the rails has brought so much joy to this journey and made the memories even more meaningful.

Thirty years later, the heart of Susan Chester remains the same: clothing chosen with care, personal attention, and a warm welcome.
